Urge your U.S. Senators to take up and pass H.R. 1551

Urge your U.S. Senators to take up and pass H.R. 1551

In order for electric cooperatives to realize cost savings provided by the Nuclear PTC, congressional action is needed. Current law does not allow co-ops to utilize the PTC, and limits tax credits to the first 6,000 MW of new capacity placed in service by 2020. Recently, the House passed H.R. 1551 to provide more equitable treatment of co-ops that co-own nuclear power projects. This legislation also eliminates the 2020 construction deadline for new nuclear power plants to be eligible for tax credits.

Ask your Senators to urge Senate leadership to take up and pass H.R. 1551 today!
